Liquid Geography Mencía Rosado is a dry Spanish rosé from the Bierzo region of northwest Spain, crafted from 100% Mencía grapes grown on vines planted in 1963. Tended in river stone and clay soil at over 1,700 feet elevation, these old vines produce fruit with exceptional depth and clarity. The wine is made from free-run juice with no prior maceration, fermented in stainless steel with zero oak influence, preserving its bright, nervy character. Pale pink in the glass, it opens with vivid aromas of wild strawberry and red currant, layered with a distinctive note of white pepper. The palate is concentrated yet lithe, driven by a taut, mineral acidity that carries through to a long, refreshing finish echoing red berries. Elegant and food-friendly, this Bierzo rosado pairs beautifully with seafood, grilled dishes, and Mediterranean fare.
